Plans from $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly

The best Akool alternative for UGC ads depends on one line most comparisons skip: what you are allowed to do with the video. Akool's own plan table gives Starter, Pro and Pro Max a personal license, and its Terms of Service bar the ready-made library avatars from promoted, boosted or paid social ads without Akool's written consent. So a brand that wants to boost avatar ads should look at tools whose paid plans license output for commercial use from the first tier: HeyGen from $29 a month, Creatify from $39, and UGCGen from $49 for a finished ad. Every price below was read on the vendor's own site.

Why advertisers look for an Akool alternative

Akool is not a bad product. It bundles face swap, live avatars, video translation, a long list of third-party video and image models and an API, and its credits are cheap: between 2.9 and 6 cents each depending on plan and billing cycle. For organic content, internal video or localization work, that range is good value.

The friction starts when the video is meant to run as a paid ad. Three things on Akool's pricing page and in its terms decide that, and none of them shows up in the headline price:

  • The license column. Akool's comparison table lists a personal license on Starter ($12 a seat), Pro ($30) and Pro Max ($59). The first plan with a business license is Business, at $249 a seat a month or $174.30 billed yearly, which is $2,091.60 upfront.
  • The stock avatar clause. The Terms of Service (last updated August 1, 2025) say you may not use Akool Avatars, the ones already in the library, in output for promoted, boosted or paid advertising on any social media platform, or for TV, without Akool's explicit written consent. That clause applies whatever plan you are on.
  • Seats and refunds. Every admin or editor you invite is charged at the owner's rate, and refunds, when granted, come back as account credits. The terms rule out cash refunds.

Our full Akool pricing breakdown has every plan on both billing toggles, the price per credit and what a 30 second avatar render costs. This article is about where to go instead if your goal is an ad you can put money behind.

Akool alternatives compared for paid social ads

The table compares the cheapest plan on each tool that removes the vendor watermark and allows commercial use of the output, which is the minimum a paid placement needs. Prices are monthly list prices in USD, with the yearly rate where the vendor publishes one.

ToolFirst clean commercial planYearly rateWhat you getBest for
AkoolBusiness, $249 a seat$174.30 a seat6,000 credits, business license; stock avatars still need written consent for paid socialFace swap, translation, API builds
HeyGenCreator, $29$24600 credits, watermark removal; terms let you use paid-plan output commerciallyAvatar volume, spokesperson video
CreatifyStarter, $39Not published100 credits, 5 credits per 15 second ad, about $1.95 an adProduct URL to ad at volume
JoggAIStarter, $29$24Avatar minutes from a flat credit priceCheapest raw avatar minute
D-IDAdvanced, $196$108Pro at $29 is commercial but adds an AI watermarkTalking photos, embedded agents
UGCGenStarter, $49$24Finished 9:16 ad with captions and hook angles, full commercial rightsPaid social ads for a product

Two honest notes on that table. On the price of a raw clip, Akool, HeyGen and JoggAI are all cheaper than UGCGen, sometimes by a lot. And Akool's Business tier is genuinely cheap per credit once you are on it. The gap is the entry ticket: Akool's first business-licensed seat costs more than four times HeyGen Creator.

HeyGen, the closest like-for-like swap

If what you used Akool for was talking avatar video, HeyGen is the most direct replacement. Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, with 600 credits and watermark removal. HeyGen's terms say you own the output and that it does not restrict commercial use of it on paid plans, while free-plan output is limited to personal, non-commercial use and may not be used for advertising. That is a clearer position for an advertiser than a license column that says personal.

The limit is the format. HeyGen makes polished spokesperson video. It does not build the ad around the avatar, so hooks, product shots and captions are still your job. We priced it per ad on our HeyGen pricing page.

Creatify, if you want ads from a product link

Creatify starts at $39 a month for 100 credits, and a 15 second ad costs 5 credits, so roughly $1.95 an ad. Pro is $99 for 300 credits, with a selector up to 5,000. Its terms grant a license to use its community assets for personal or commercial use, and the product is built around ad formats, templates and a Meta and TikTok launcher. Creatify no longer publishes annual prices, only a "save up to 50%" line, so budget on the monthly figure. The full credit math is on our Creatify pricing page.

UGCGen, when the deliverable is the ad itself

UGCGen is the narrowest tool on this list, by design. You paste a product URL, pick an AI creator and get a captioned 9:16 UGC-style ad with hook variations, rendered with Google Veo on every paid plan, and every paid plan carries full commercial rights. Starter is $49 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for one short ad a month plus 2 extra hook angles of it. Plus is $149 a month for 26 ads, roughly $5.75 an ad or about $2.85 billed yearly, with batch mode, 25 languages and 3 seats. The first purchase has a 14 day money-back guarantee.

It costs more per clip than Akool. What you are paying for is that the clip is already an ad and you are cleared to boost it. You can try it from the product URL box at the top of this page.

Is Akool good for UGC ads?

For organic UGC-style content, yes, and its model range is wide. For paid UGC ads it is harder than the price suggests. Starter, Pro and Pro Max carry a personal license, Business starts at $249 a seat, and Akool's terms require written consent before its stock avatars appear in boosted or paid social ads.

What is cheaper than Akool for commercial avatar video?

HeyGen Creator at $29 a month, or $24 yearly, and JoggAI Starter at $29 are both cheaper than Akool's first business-licensed seat at $249. Synthesia Starter is $29, or $18 billed yearly, and removes its logo. All three are cheaper per month than Akool Business, though Akool Business includes far more credits.

Can I use a custom avatar of myself on Akool for ads?

The stock avatar clause covers avatars that were not made specifically for you, so a custom avatar of a person who agreed to ad use is treated differently. You still need a plan whose license fits the use, which on Akool's table means Business or Enterprise for business work. Keep the person's signed release on file.

Which Akool alternative is best for agencies?

Agencies feel Akool's per-seat pricing most, because every editor pays the owner's rate. A five editor team on Business monthly is $1,245 a month before any extra credits. UGCGen Pro includes 10 seats, white-label exports and API access at $499 a month or $249 yearly, and HeyGen Business adds seats at $20 each on top of $149. Agencies that resell finished ads to clients usually bill per deliverable, and when client payments run late, software that chases every unpaid invoice saves the follow-up emails.

How to switch from Akool without losing work

  1. Download what you made. Export finished videos and any custom avatar footage before the paid period ends; check what your plan's storage keeps after cancellation.
  2. Cancel in time. Akool's terms ask you to cancel by email at least 24 hours before renewal, and plans renew automatically at the then-current price.
  3. Re-run one winning script. Take the ad that performed best and rebuild it on the new tool first, so you compare like for like.
  4. Test hooks, not avatars. In paid social the first two seconds decide the result more than the presenter does. Our best AI UGC ad generator shortlist covers the tools built around hook testing.

The short version

Akool is a cheap, wide toolbox, and for organic content it is hard to beat per credit. For paid social it carries two conditions most buyers find late: a personal license below the $249 Business seat, and written consent before stock avatars run in boosted ads. If you want avatar video with commercial rights from the first paid tier, HeyGen is the like-for-like swap. If you want the finished, boostable UGC ad, start with UGCGen pricing and paste a product URL.
