Short answer: at entry level Creatify is the cheapest per finished ad at roughly $1.95, Tagshop AI is the cheapest sticker at $29 a month but works out to $5.80 an ad on monthly billing, and MakeUGC's cost per ad cannot be calculated at all because it publishes credit allowances without publishing what a video costs in credits. All three prices below were read from each vendor's own pricing page in September 2026, not copied from a review roundup.

If you are comparing these three, you have probably already noticed that no two articles agree on what any of them charge. That is not because the writers are careless. It is because all three pricing pages render their numbers in JavaScript, and two of them change what they display depending on a toggle or a promotion that happens to be running. So before anything else, here is what each page actually said this month.

The verified prices, September 2026

ToolEntry planAllowanceMid tierTop self-serve tier
Tagshop AIStarter, $29 a month50 credits, up to 5 videos a monthGrowth, $69 a month, up to 15 videosPro, $129 a month, up to 30 videos
CreatifyStarter, $39 a month100 credits a monthPro, $99 a month, 300 creditsEnterprise, quoted
MakeUGCStart up, $89 list price500 credits a monthGrowth, $119 list, 1,000 creditsPro, $149, 2,000 credits

Two footnotes on that table, and both of them matter. Tagshop's page opens on the annual toggle, where the same Starter plan reads "$14 /month (Paid Annually)" with "600 Credits /year" and "Upto 60 videos". Creatify's figures were re-verified on September 3. MakeUGC was showing a countdown-timer promotion when we loaded it, discounting Start up from $89 to $59 and Growth from $119 to $79, so the list prices in the table are what you should expect the plan to renew at once the timer has done its job.

Cost per video ad, which is the number that actually decides this

A monthly price tells you almost nothing on its own, because these three tools sell you completely different amounts of output for it. Convert everything to dollars per finished ad and the ranking changes immediately.

ToolDoes it publish videos per credit?Entry cost per adHow we got there
CreatifyYes, 5 credits per 15 seconds of videoAbout $1.95$39 divided by the 20 fifteen-second ads a 100 credit allowance buys
Tagshop AI, annualYes, video caps printed on the card$2.80$168 for the year divided by 60 videos
Tagshop AI, monthlyYes$5.80$29 divided by 5 videos
MakeUGCNoNot calculable500 credits a month with no published credits-per-video figure

That last row is the finding worth carrying away. MakeUGC sells a credit allowance five to ten times larger than Tagshop's, and at a glance that reads like better value. But an allowance you cannot convert into a video count is not a forecast, it is a hope. Until you have generated a month of real work on the platform you genuinely do not know whether 500 credits buys you fifty ads or twelve. Pippit has the same gap in its published figures, for what it is worth.

Creatify sits at the other end. It states plainly that 15 seconds of finished video costs 5 credits, which means a 100 credit Starter allowance is twenty fifteen-second ads and you can do the arithmetic in your head before you enter a card. Whatever else is true about the three tools, that is the most buyer-friendly thing any of them does.

The Tagshop toggle trap

Tagshop deserves its own paragraph here because its pricing page contains the single easiest mistake to make in this comparison. Loaded fresh, it defaults to yearly billing. The Starter card shows a small price, $14, next to two large numbers: 600 credits and up to 60 videos.

Click Monthly and the same card becomes $29, 50 credits, up to 5 videos. Six hundred divided by twelve is fifty. Sixty divided by twelve is five. The annual plan carries exactly the same monthly capacity as the monthly plan, expressed in a different unit. Nothing dishonest is happening, but if you write "Tagshop Starter, $14, 60 videos" into a comparison spreadsheet and put it next to "Creatify Starter, $39, 100 credits a month", you have just compared a year to a month and Tagshop wins a race it did not enter.

The practical consequence is that Tagshop's real lever is not the tier, it is the billing period. Moving from Starter to Pro takes you from $5.80 to $4.30 an ad on monthly billing. Simply paying annually takes Starter from $5.80 to $2.80. The billing toggle is worth more than two plan upgrades. We worked all six configurations out on our Tagshop AI pricing breakdown.

Which one should you actually buy?

Buy Creatify if unit economics are the deciding factor and you are testing creative continuously. The published credit formula means you can plan a quarter of ad variants against a budget line before you commit, and at roughly $1.95 a fifteen-second ad it is the cheapest of the three per finished asset at entry level. The trade is that you are buying seconds of video, so longer edits eat the allowance faster than the headline suggests.

Buy Tagshop AI if you can commit to twelve months and your volume genuinely lands in the 15 to 30 videos a month range, where Growth and Pro are sensibly priced. It is the only one of the three that prints a video count on the plan card, which is a real advantage when you are trying to forecast. Avoid its monthly billing unless you are only testing, because $5.80 an ad is the most expensive way to buy anything in this comparison.

Buy MakeUGC if the avatar library and model access matter more to you than predictable unit cost, and you are willing to run a paid month as your own pricing research. Its plans include access to the current frontier video models, which is a genuine draw. Just go in knowing you are buying an allowance rather than a quantity, and do not let a promotional price anchor your budget when the list price is what renews.

What none of the three solves

All three sell credits, and credits are an abstraction sitting between your budget and the thing you actually need, which is a finished ad ready to upload. Every conversation in this category eventually turns into the same arithmetic: how many credits does a video burn, does that change with length, does it change with the model, and what happens when the allowance runs out mid-test. Two of these three vendors will not answer the first question in public.

That is the reasoning behind pricing in finished ads instead. UGCGen counts plans in ads rather than credits, so the number on the plan is the number of videos you get, and there is no unit to convert before you can compare it to anything. Starter is $49 a month. The full category priced side by side, including the credit-based tools, sits on our AI UGC pricing pillar.

One last note for the agencies reading this, since a good share of the people comparing these tools are reselling the output rather than running it themselves. If you are white-labelling AI UGC for clients you end up holding several vendor agreements and several client agreements at once, each with its own renewal date and usage terms, and it is worth having a system to keep track of what each of those agreements actually commits you to before you add a fourth tool to the stack. Margin in reselling creative is thin enough without discovering a renewal you had forgotten. Our white label UGC ads page covers the delivery side of that workflow.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tagshop AI cheaper than Creatify?

On sticker price yes, $29 against $39 at entry level. On cost per finished ad no. Creatify publishes 5 credits per 15 seconds against a 100 credit allowance, roughly $1.95 an ad, while Tagshop's own cap of 5 videos on its $29 tier works out to $5.80. Tagshop closes most of that gap on annual billing, at $2.80.

How many videos do you get with MakeUGC?

MakeUGC does not publish a credits-per-video figure, so there is no honest answer from its published pricing. Start up carries 500 credits a month, Growth 1,000 and Pro 2,000, with a slider running to 5,000. Any article quoting you a precise MakeUGC video count has estimated it. Plan on measuring your own burn rate during the first paid month.

Which is best for a small DTC brand testing creative?

Creatify at entry level, on cost per ad alone, provided fifteen-second cuts suit your placements. If you want a printed video count rather than a credit formula, Tagshop Growth on annual billing at $39 a month for 15 videos a month is the closest thing to a predictable creative line item among these three.

Do any of them have a free trial?

None of the three advertises a free trial on its pricing page as of September 2026. MakeUGC's cards carry a "Start for $1" entry point on the plan buttons. Elsewhere in the category CreateUGC runs a three day trial capped at three videos and Pippit keeps a permanently free tier that watermarks every export, so free testing exists but not from these three.

Why does every comparison article quote different prices for these tools?

Because all three pricing pages build their numbers in JavaScript, Tagshop defaults to a yearly toggle that changes the allowance unit, and MakeUGC was running a countdown promotion when we checked. A writer captures whichever state loaded for them and publishes it as the price. Load each page yourself, flip the toggles, and note the date.
