Plans from $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly
Short answer: Kling is cheaper than Pika on every comparable subscription tier once you look at the price you pay from the second month: $8.80 against $10 at entry, $32.56 against $35 in the middle, and $6.60 against $8 a month on yearly billing. Pika is the one that tells you what a clip costs before you buy, because it publishes credits per generation (122 credits for a 5 second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p) and Kling's app does not. For raw cost per clip, Kling's developer API is far cheaper than anything on a Pika plan, but it starts with a $700 prepaid package.
We read Pika's prices on pika.art/pricing on October 24, 2026, including the plan data embedded in the page, and Kling's membership page and developer rate card on October 15, 2026. Most of the pages that rank for this comparison quote Pika plans called Standard and Pro with 700 and 2,300 credits. Those names are gone. Pika now sells Starter, Creator and Fancy, counted in a new unit it calls creation credits, and the full breakdown is on our Pika pricing page. Kling's own numbers, including the first-month trap, are on Kling AI pricing.
Pika vs Kling pricing at a glance
The table uses the price your card is charged in a normal month. Kling shows a one-time first-month deal on each monthly card, so we list the renewal price and put the deal in brackets. Pika has no intro price.
| Tier | Pika monthly | Pika yearly, per month | Pika credits | Kling monthly from month two | Kling yearly, per month | Kling credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, packs only | $0 | 0 a month | Basic, $0 | $0 | No monthly allowance listed |
| Entry | Starter $10 | $8 | 900 | Standard $8.80 ($6.99 first month) | $6.60 | 660 |
| Mid | Creator $35 | $28 | 3,150 | Pro $32.56 ($25.99 first month) | $24.42 | 3,000 |
| Upper | Fancy from $95 | From $76 | 8,550 | Premier $80.96 ($64.99 first month) | $60.72 | 8,000 |
| Top | Fancy up to $880 | Up to $704 | About 79,200 | Ultra $159.99 ($127.99 first month) | $119.17 | 26,000 |
Do not compare the credit columns across vendors. A Pika creation credit and a Kling credit buy different amounts of video, and neither company publishes an exchange rate. What you can compare is the plan price, and on that Kling wins at every tier on both billing cycles.
Is Pika cheaper than Kling?
No, not on a subscription. Kling's entry plan renews at $8.80 against Pika's $10, and on yearly billing Kling Pro is $24.42 a month against $28 for Pika Creator. Pika only looks cheaper if you compare its renewal price with Kling's crossed-out list prices ($10, $37, $92 and $180), which nobody pays.
Pika does have two structural advantages. First, its price per credit is flat. Every Pika plan buys 90 creation credits per dollar on monthly billing, from the $10 Starter to the $880 top of the Fancy slider, so you never pay a premium for buying small. Second, Pika lets you scale Fancy in small steps instead of jumping a whole tier. Kling's next step above Premier is a $79 a month jump to Ultra.
What does one clip cost on Pika vs Kling?
Pika publishes what each generation costs in credits, which makes it the easier of the two to budget. Kling shows the credit cost of each generation inside its app before you press generate, and publishes per-second dollar rates only for its API. The table puts both into dollars for a 5 second clip.
| 5 second clip | 720p | 1080p | How you pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pika, Seedance 2.5 (122 credits) | $1.36 monthly plan, $1.08 yearly | Not listed on the pricing page | Subscription or top-up |
| Pika, Wan 3.0 (33 credits) | $0.37 monthly plan, $0.29 yearly | Not listed on the pricing page | Subscription or top-up |
| Kling API, 2.6 without audio | $0.21 | $0.35 | $700 prepaid package, 180 days |
| Kling API, 3.0 without audio | $0.42 | $0.56 | $700 prepaid package, 180 days |
| Kling API, 3.0 with native audio | $0.63 | $0.84 | $700 prepaid package, 180 days |
The Pika figures are our arithmetic: Pika's published credits per generation multiplied by its plan rate of $0.0111 a credit monthly or about $0.0089 yearly. The Kling figures are its developer rate card multiplied by five seconds. Pika's flagship option on its own pricing card is Seedance 2.5, and at $1.36 a clip it costs more than three times Kling 3.0 on the API. If you want ByteDance's model specifically, our Seedance pricing page shows what it costs at the source.
What a 30 second ad costs on Pika vs Kling
A 30 second spot is six 5 second shots. In real ad work each shot gets rendered about three times before one is usable, which is our working assumption rather than a vendor figure, so budget around 90 seconds of generated footage per finished ad. Pika's own plan finder makes a similar allowance and adds 25 percent for extra takes.
| How you make it | Generated footage | Cost per finished 30s ad |
|---|---|---|
| Kling API 2.6, 720p, no audio | 90 seconds | $3.78 |
| Pika Wan 3.0, 720p, yearly plan | 18 clips, 594 credits | $5.28 |
| Pika Wan 3.0, 720p, monthly plan | 18 clips, 594 credits | $6.60 |
| Kling API 3.0, 1080p, no audio | 90 seconds | $10.08 |
| Kling API 3.0, 1080p, native audio | 90 seconds | $15.12 |
| Pika Seedance 2.5, 720p, yearly plan | 18 clips, 2,196 credits | $19.52 |
| Pika Seedance 2.5, 720p, monthly plan | 18 clips, 2,196 credits | $24.40 |
The allowance problem matters more than the per-ad number. Pika Starter's 900 credits make seven Seedance 2.5 clips a month, which is 35 seconds of footage and not enough for one 30 second ad with retakes. You need Creator at $35 for one ad a month on Seedance with three takes per shot. If you are testing five or more hooks a week, you are on Fancy or buying top-ups.
Pika top-ups vs Kling's API package
Both vendors sell credit outside the subscription, and both make it expensive in a different way. Pika top-ups start at $25 for 1,500 credits and run to $1,000 for 66,000, at 60 credits per dollar. That is 50 percent dearer than plan credits, so a Pika top-up only makes sense for a one-off spike. They last 365 days, but they cannot be spent on Pika's API, its iOS app or old.pika.art.
Kling's API is the reverse: cheap per second, with a high door. The smallest package is $700 for 5,000 units, and it expires after 180 days with no rollover. If you will not generate around $700 of footage in six months, part of that money is gone. It is worth logging every one of these purchases where your finance team will see them, and a tool that will read your receipts and categorize every subscription keeps prepaid AI credit from hiding in a card statement.
Which is better for ecommerce video ads, Pika or Kling?
Pick Kling if price is the deciding factor. Its subscription is cheaper at every tier, it renders longer shots at 1080p and 4K, and Kling 3.0 can generate audio with the picture. If you have a developer and a steady volume, its API is the cheapest per clip of the two by a wide margin. Watch the first-month price, which renews higher, and the $700 minimum on the API.
Pick Pika if you want to plan a month in advance. It is the only one of the two that prints the credit cost of each model on its pricing page, its credit price does not punish small buyers, and one subscription gives you several third-party models (Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, MiniMax and others) next to Pika's own. Remember that its free plan has no monthly credits and no commercial license, so nothing made on Free can run as an ad.
Both are non-refundable on unused credit, and both let plan credits lapse at the end of each billing period. Our Kling vs Hailuo pricing comparison covers the third budget option in the same tier.
What neither Pika nor Kling gives you
Both tools sell seconds of footage. A paid social ad needs more than that: a hook in the first two seconds, a script, a voice, captions and several variants to test. With Pika or Kling you write the prompts, render the shots, pick the takes and cut them together yourself or pay an editor to. That is fine if you have the time, and it is the cheapest route if you do.
If you would rather pay for the finished ad, UGCGen starts from your product URL and renders a talking AI creator ad with the script, voice, captions and five hook variations already built. Per second of raw footage it costs more than either tool: Starter is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, for 19 seconds of talking creator video. You are buying the ad rather than the clips. Check the plans on UGCGen pricing, or paste a product URL and see an example ad made for your product before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
Is Kling cheaper than Pika?
Yes, on every paid tier. Kling Standard renews at $8.80 a month against $10 for Pika Starter, Kling Pro at $32.56 against $35 for Pika Creator, and on yearly billing Kling is $6.60 and $24.42 a month against Pika's $8 and $28. Kling's first month is cheaper still, but that is a one-time offer.
Which is better, Pika or Kling AI?
For ads, Kling is usually the better value: cheaper plans, longer 1080p shots, 4K and native audio on 3.0 models. Pika is better for predictable budgeting because it publishes credits per generation, keeps one flat credit price across plans and bundles several third-party video models in one subscription.
How many credits does a Pika video cost compared with Kling?
Pika publishes 122 credits for a 5 second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p and 33 credits for Wan 3.0, about $1.36 and $0.37 on a monthly plan. Kling shows credit costs only inside its app, so the public comparison is its API at $0.21 to $0.84 for a 5 second clip.
Do Pika and Kling credits roll over?
Plan credits do not roll over on Pika; they refresh each billing period. Pika top-up credits carry over and expire 365 days after purchase. Kling's API packages expire after 180 days with no rollover. Neither vendor refunds unused credit, so buy for the volume you will actually render.
Can I use Pika or Kling free plans for commercial ads?
No. Pika's Free plan has no monthly credits, watermarked output and no commercial license, and Kling grants commercial-use rights to paid subscribers. For any ad you will run, the real entry price is Pika Starter at $10 or Kling Standard at $8.80 a month after its first-month offer.
