Runway Pricing and Runway AI Pricing With Runway ML Plans and Cost Per Ad
Runway sells credits, and every model burns them at its own rate per second. Below is the live price list on both toggles, converted into dollars per second and per 30 second ad. If what you need is a finished UGC ad rather than raw footage, paste a product URL into the tool.

Plans from $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly
The short answer
Runway pricing is $0 for Free, $15 a month for Standard, $35 for Pro and $95 for Max, or $12, $28 and $76 a month billed yearly. Team costs $69 per seat, or $55 yearly, and the API sells credits at $0.01 each. Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second, so a 30 second ad sequence costs between $2.88 and $8.64 in credits before retakes, depending on the plan. The Unlimited plan many articles still quote is gone; Max replaced it. If the job is a paid social ad, UGCGen builds one from a product URL, and our AI UGC pricing guide lines up every tool per finished ad.
Where these numbers come from
We read runwayml.com/pricing on 9 October 2026 on the Monthly and Yearly toggles, including the per-model credit table and the FAQ, then the Team plan page, the API pricing guide in Runway's developer docs, the Terms of Use, and the archived January 2026 version of the pricing page.

Runway plans and prices on both billing toggles
The toggle promises 20 percent off for yearly billing, and on every plan that is exactly what it is. Yearly plans list their credits as one annual figure: 7,500 on Standard, 27,000 on Pro and 114,000 on Max.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard monthly | 625 a month | $15 | $0.0240 | $0.29 |
| Standard yearly | 7,500 a year | $144 a year | $0.0192 | $0.23 |

| Team, per seat monthly | 6,900 a month | $69 | $0.0100 | $0.12 |
| Team, per seat yearly | 82,800 a year | $660 a year | $0.0080 | $0.10 |
| API | bought as needed | pay as you go | $0.0100 | $0.12 |
| UGCGen Plus | 26 ad generations | $149, or $74 yearly | n/a | About $5.75 per finished ad |
Two things stand out. Max costs 2.7 times Pro and carries 4.2 times the credits, so per second it is the cheapest self-serve plan. And Max monthly prices a credit exactly like the API, so a team that already lives in the API gains nothing per credit from the web plan except the one month rollover. Enterprise is quoted, and the page currently offers enterprises two months of usage free on contracts signed by 31 October.

What happened to the Runway Unlimited plan
It is no longer for sale. The pricing page Runway served in January 2026 had a plan called Unlimited at $76 per user a month billed yearly. It came with only 2,250 credits, the same as Pro, and its whole value was Explore mode: unlimited generations of Gen-4.5, Aleph, Gen-4 and Act-Two at a relaxed rate. By July 2026 that card had been replaced by Max, at the same $76 yearly price, with 9,500 credits and no Explore mode on the card.
So the comparison posts that still recommend "Runway Unlimited" for high-volume ad testing are describing a deal you cannot sign up for. What you get now is a fixed pool. The good news hides in the same change: Gen-4.5 went from 25 credits a second in January to 12 now, so the same 625 Standard credits buy 52 seconds instead of 25. Per second, Runway's flagship model got 52 percent cheaper while the unlimited option disappeared.

Pricing is per account now
The January page priced Standard, Pro and Unlimited per user, with up to 10 users in a workspace. Today the individual plans are single-account, and shared work moved to the Team plan at $69 a seat with a two seat minimum.
Third-party models sit in the same pool
Pro and Max cards list Seedance, Kling 3.0 and Nano Banana Pro next to Gen-4.5. They all spend the same credits at their own rate, so a plan buys far fewer seconds of Seedance at 1080p than of Gen-4.5.
Volume buyers still have one lever
With no unlimited tier, the cheapest Runway second is Max or Team on yearly billing at about $0.10 of Gen-4.5. Below that you are into Enterprise, where credits are a custom package.
Runway credits
How many credits each Runway video model uses
Runway's FAQ says each model uses a set number of credits per generation depending on model, duration and resolution. These are the rates on the pricing page, with the Veo rows taken from the API guide because the web table does not list them.
| Model | Credits per second | Seconds on Standard | Seconds on Pro | Seconds on Max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gen-4.5 | 12 (60 per 5s) | 52 | 187 | 791 |
| Aleph 2.0 (video editing) | 28 (140 per 5s) | 22 | 80 | 339 |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | 29 (116 per 4s) | 21 | 77 | 327 |
| Seedance 2.0 Pro, 1080p | 40 (160 per 4s) | 15 | 56 | 237 |
| Veo 3.1 with audio (API) | 40 | n/a | n/a | n/a |
| Veo 3.1 Fast with audio (API) | 15 | n/a | n/a | n/a |
| Seedance 2.0 at 4K (API) | 150 | n/a | n/a | n/a |
Seconds are rounded down per month of credits. The API guide also lists a 56 credit minimum per Aleph generation and an 80 credit minimum per Seedance 2.5 generation, so very short clips cost more per second than the rate suggests. Compare the model makers' own rate cards on our Seedance pricing and Veo 3 pricing pages.
Runway cost per ad
What a 30 second Runway ad costs on each plan
Thirty seconds of Gen-4.5 is 360 credits, and of Seedance 2.0 Pro at 1080p 1,200. Nobody keeps every take, so the third column assumes three generations per clip you keep, which is our working estimate rather than a Runway figure.
| Plan | 30s Gen-4.5, one take | 30s Gen-4.5, three takes | 30s Seedance 2.0 Pro 1080p |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard monthly | $8.64, once a month | Exceeds 625 credits | Exceeds 625 credits |
| Standard yearly | $6.91 | $20.74 | $23.04 |
| Pro monthly | $5.60 | $16.80, two a month | $18.67 |
| Pro yearly | $4.48 | $13.44 | $14.93 |
| Max monthly | $3.60 | $10.80, eight a month | $12.00 |
| Max yearly | $2.88 | $8.64 | $9.60 |
| API | $3.60 | $10.80 | $12.00 |
These are footage costs only. The script, hook, voice, captions and the edit that turns six 5 second clips into one ad are still your work, or a second tool's bill.

The fine print
Refund, rollover and licence terms that change what Runway costs
These come from the FAQ on Runway's pricing page and from sections 4.4, 8.4 and 8.5 of its Terms of Use.
Non-refundable by default
Section 8.5 says all fees are non-refundable and cancelling gives no refund for the rest of the period. Runway may refund on request at its discretion, and if it does, the subscription ends when the refund starts.
No price protection
Runway does not refund the difference if a price drops or a promotion appears after you buy. Section 8.4 also lets it change fees going forward, and renewals bill at the then-current price.
Use it or lose it below Max
Standard and Pro credits reset within 24 hours of the billing date. Max and Team roll up to one month over. Credits bought on top never expire, with a 1,000 credit minimum and the price shown only in the dashboard.
Upgrades are prorated
An upgrade applies at once and you pay the time-adjusted difference. A downgrade waits for the next cycle, and the unused balance becomes a credit toward it.
Commercial use is allowed
Section 4.4 says Runway does not claim ownership of your inputs or outputs and does not restrict commercial use of outputs, as long as you follow the agreement. Ads are fine.
Your uploads can train the models
The same section says inputs and outputs may be used to train Runway's models and grants it a perpetual, irrevocable licence to them. Worth knowing before you upload an unreleased product. Enterprise is where data terms get negotiated.
Runway for ad teams
Is Runway worth it for ecommerce video ads
For B-roll, product shots in motion, scene extensions and editing existing footage with Aleph, Runway is one of the strongest tools you can buy, and Max yearly is good value per second. For a UGC ad, where a person talks to camera about your product, Runway hands you clips and leaves the format to you: you write the hook, generate or record the voice, add captions and stitch six or more clips together. That is fine for a studio with an editor. It is slow for a brand that needs twenty hook variations a week.

Questions buyers actually ask
Runway pricing questions
How much does Runway cost?
Runway costs $0 for Free, $15 a month for Standard, $35 for Pro and $95 for Max, or $12, $28 and $76 a month billed yearly. Standard carries 625 credits a month, Pro 2,250 and Max 9,500. Team is $69 per seat, or $55 yearly, with 6,900 pooled credits per seat, and Enterprise is quoted.
Is Runway free?
There is a Free plan with 125 one-time credits that do not expire and 5GB of storage. At 12 credits a second that is about 10 seconds of Gen-4.5. The credits never refill, and the No watermarks line first appears on Standard at $15 a month.
Does Runway have an unlimited plan?
Not one you can buy today. In January 2026 the Unlimited plan cost $76 per user a month billed yearly, with 2,250 credits plus unlimited relaxed generations in Explore mode. The current page has no Unlimited card. The top self-serve plan is Max, $95 a month or $76 yearly, with 9,500 credits and a one month rollover.
How many credits per second does Runway use?
Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second, or 60 per 5 second clip. Aleph 2.0 uses 140 credits per 5 seconds, Seedance 2.0 Pro at 1080p 160 per 4 seconds and Seedance 2.0 Fast 116 per 4 seconds. A second of Gen-4.5 costs about $0.10 on Max yearly and $0.29 on Standard monthly.
Do Runway credits roll over?
Only on Max and Team. Standard and Pro credits do not roll over and reset within 24 hours of the billing date. Max and Team carry up to one month of unused credits forward. Credits you buy separately never expire, with a minimum purchase of 1,000 credits.
Can I get a refund from Runway?
Not as a right. Section 8.5 of the Terms of Use says all fees are non-refundable and cancelling does not refund the rest of the period, though Runway may refund at its discretion. It also offers no price protection if a price drops after you buy.
How much does the Runway API cost?
API credits cost $0.01 each in the developer portal. Gen-4.5 is 12 credits a second, or $0.12, Veo 3.1 with audio 40 credits, Veo 3.1 Fast with audio 15, Seedance 2.0 at 1080p 40 and at 4K 150. A 30 second Gen-4.5 sequence is $3.60 before retakes.
Can I use Runway videos for commercial use in ads?
Yes. Runway's Terms of Use say it does not claim ownership of your outputs and does not restrict their commercial use, subject to the agreement. The same section lets Runway use inputs and outputs to train its models under a perpetual licence, which matters if you upload unreleased products.
