Seedance Pricing 2026: Seedance 2.0 Pricing, Seedance Cost and Seedance API Pricing
Every rate here comes from ByteDance's own BytePlus pricing documentation and resource-plan pages, not from a reseller's summary. We turned the token prices into dollars per second, then into what one finished 30 second ad costs, and wrote down the places where BytePlus's own pages disagree with each other. If you need ads rather than model seconds, paste a product URL on the right.

Seedance is priced per token on ByteDance's BytePlus ModelArk API, which works out to between $0.04 and $0.78 per second of video. Seedance 2.0 costs $0.07 a second at 480p, $0.15 at 720p, $0.37 at 1080p and $0.78 in 4K, with clips up to 15 seconds. The newer Seedance 2.5 costs $0.103, $0.231 and $0.569 a second at 480p, 720p and 1080p and renders up to 30 seconds in one take. Seedance 2.0 Fast ($0.12 a second at 720p) and 2.0 Mini ($0.08) are cheaper but stop at 720p. Prepaid resource plans cut the token rate by about 40 percent, but they last three months, cannot be refunded, and the Seedance 2.5 plans cover 480p and 720p only. A finished 30 second 1080p ad on Seedance 2.5 costs $17.06 per take at list price, and closer to $51 once you allow three takes. If what you need is ad creative rather than model seconds, compare it with tools that bill per finished ad in our AI UGC pricing guide.

Seedance API pricing per second, every model and resolution
BytePlus bills Seedance in tokens, and a video's token count is its duration times width times height times frame rate, divided by 1,024. That makes the token price hard to read, so the table below uses BytePlus's own worked examples: a 5 second, 16:9 clip generated from text or images, with no video fed in. We divided each example by five to get a price per second. These are online (real-time) rates; the offline, half-price batch tier is only offered on the older 1.x models.
| Model | Per 1M tokens | 480p | 720p | 1080p | 4K | Longest clip |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | $10.70 (1080p $11.70) | $0.103/s | $0.231/s | $0.569/s | Not listed | 30 seconds |
| Seedance 2.0 | $7.00 (1080p $7.70, 4K $4.00) | $0.07/s | $0.15/s | $0.37/s | $0.78/s | 15 seconds |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | $5.60 | $0.06/s | $0.12/s | Not supported | Not supported | 15 seconds |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | $3.50 | $0.04/s | $0.08/s | Not supported | Not supported | 15 seconds |
| Seedance 1.5 Pro, with audio | $2.40 ($1.20 batch) | $0.024/s | $0.052/s | $0.116/s | Not listed | Short clips |
The cheap tiers cannot make 1080p
The $0.04 and $0.06 headline rates belong to 2.0 Mini and 2.0 Fast, and both are marked "Not supported" at 1080p and 4K. A Meta or TikTok ad you intend to scale usually wants 1080p, so the rate that applies to you starts at $0.37 a second on Seedance 2.0, not $0.04.
Seedance 2.5 costs about half as much again
At 720p, 2.5 is $0.231 a second against $0.15 for 2.0, which is 54 percent more. At 1080p it is $0.569 against $0.37, 54 percent more again. What you buy with that premium is length: 2.5 renders 30 seconds in one take, while 2.0 caps at 15 and a 30 second spot has to be stitched from two clips.
Failed renders are free
BytePlus charges only for videos that generate successfully. If a request fails, including when content moderation blocks it, there is no fee. That is more generous than most credit apps, which often keep the credits on a blocked prompt. Renders you simply do not like are still billed in full.
Seedance 1.5 Pro is billed on output with audio or without it: silent video costs half the audio rate, and a draft mode at 480p costs less again. Its per-second figures above are derived from BytePlus's 5 second audio examples ($0.12, $0.26 and $0.58 a clip). The Seedance 1.0 Pro models are still listed at $2.50 and $1.00 per million tokens for teams maintaining older pipelines.
Feeding Seedance a reference video multiplies the bill
The token price for "input with video" looks cheaper, for example $4.30 per million on Seedance 2.0 against $7.00 without video. It is not cheaper. The token formula counts the seconds of the video you upload as well as the seconds you generate, and BytePlus applies a minimum token charge whenever a video goes in. So a 5 second output from a 15 second reference is billed on 20 seconds of footage. This matters for ad teams, because "restyle this winning ad" and "keep this product shot consistent" are exactly the jobs that use a reference clip.
| 5 second output, 16:9 | From text or images | With a reference video | Worst case vs no video |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5, 720p | $1.16 | $1.24 to $4.84 (2 to 30s input) | 4.2x |
| Seedance 2.5, 1080p | $2.84 | $3.06 to $11.91 (2 to 30s input) | 4.2x |
| Seedance 2.0, 720p | $0.76 | $0.84 to $1.86 (2 to 15s input) | 2.4x |
| Seedance 2.0, 1080p | $1.87 | $2.06 to $4.57 (2 to 15s input) | 2.4x |
| Seedance 2.0, 4K | $3.89 | $4.20 to $9.33 (2 to 15s input) | 2.4x |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast, 720p | $0.60 | $0.64 to $1.43 (2 to 15s input) | 2.4x |
Ranges are BytePlus's own published examples. The low end corresponds to a 2 to 4 second reference and the high end to the longest reference each model accepts. The last column is our division of the high end by the no-video price. The practical rule: trim a reference clip to the few seconds that actually carry the motion you want before you upload it.
Seedance resource plans: a 40 percent discount with strings attached
BytePlus does not sell a monthly Seedance subscription in the usual sense. It sells prepaid token bundles it calls resource plans, open to individuals and companies, that offset your per-token usage. These are the plans listed on BytePlus's Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 offer pages.
| Plan | Price | Tokens | Per 1M tokens | vs list price | Resolutions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 Light | $32.00 | 5 million | $6.40 | 40% off $10.70 | 480p, 720p |
| Seedance 2.5 Production | $64.00 | 10 million | $6.40 | 40% off $10.70 | 480p, 720p |
| Seedance 2.5 Premium | $640.00 | 100 million | $6.40 | 40% off $10.70 | 480p, 720p |
| Seedance 2.0 Light | $30.10 | 7 million | $4.30 | 39% off $7.00 | 480p to 4K (see note) |
| Seedance 2.0 Production | $43.00 | 10 million | $4.30 | 39% off $7.00 | 480p to 4K (see note) |
| Seedance 2.0 Premium | $55.90 | 13 million | $4.30 | 39% off $7.00 | 480p to 4K (see note) |
No volume discount
Divide each price by its tokens and every plan in a family lands on the same rate: $6.40 per million for 2.5 and $4.30 for 2.0. The $640 Premium plan buys nothing the $32 Light plan does not, except the risk of stranding more tokens. Buy the smallest plan and top up.
Three months, no refund
Every plan is valid for three months. BytePlus's own FAQ says that once a resource package is purchased "it cannot be canceled or unsubscribed". Tokens you have not used by the deadline are gone, so size the plan to what you will render in one quarter.
No 1080p on the 2.5 plans
The Seedance 2.5 plan cards list 480p and 720p only, and the offer page's FAQ puts the 2.5 maximum at 720p. 1080p on 2.5 does exist on the pay-as-you-go rate card at $11.70 per million tokens, so a 1080p 2.5 workflow pays full list price.
Then pay-as-you-go
When a plan runs out, billing switches automatically to pay-as-you-go at list price. BytePlus's general AI savings plan cannot be used to offset Seedance at all. Set a spend alert in the console before a long batch, or the discount quietly ends mid-run.
A note on 4K. BytePlus contradicts itself here: the Seedance 2.0 plan cards list "480P / 720P / 1080P / 4K" and the pricing documentation prices 2.0 in 4K at $4.00 per million tokens, while the FAQ on the same offer page says "the maximum resolution is 1080P". Confirm 4K on your account in the console before you budget for it. Separately, BytePlus is running temporary discounts on Seedance 2.0 Mini (60 percent off) and 2.0 Fast (25 percent off) at 480p and 720p until October 7, 2026, for enterprise accounts only, up to a usage cap.
What a 30 second Seedance ad actually costs
A UGC-style ad for Meta or TikTok usually runs 15 to 30 seconds, and nobody ships the first render. The table prices 30 seconds of 16:9 footage from text or images at list price, then the same spot allowing three takes, which is a normal hit rate for a single usable shot. Seedance 2.0 needs two 15 second clips for 30 seconds; Seedance 2.5 does it in one.
| Model and resolution | 30 seconds, one take | With three takes | On a resource plan, one take |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5, 1080p | $17.06 | $51.17 | Not covered, list price applies |
| Seedance 2.5, 720p | $6.94 | $20.81 | About $4.15 |
| Seedance 2.0, 4K | $23.34 | $70.02 | No saving, see below |
| Seedance 2.0, 1080p | $11.22 | $33.66 | About $6.27 |
| Seedance 2.0, 720p | $4.56 | $13.68 | About $2.80 |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast, 720p | $3.60 | $10.80 | No Fast plan listed |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini, 720p | $2.28 | $6.84 | No Mini plan listed |
One take is BytePlus's 5 second example price multiplied by six. The resource-plan column applies the plan's per-token rate to the same token count and assumes one plan token offsets one billed token for text and image input; BytePlus says the offset ratio varies "up to about 1:1.8" across resolutions and input modes, so treat that column as a floor. The multiplications are ours. One oddity worth knowing: Seedance 2.0 in 4K lists at $4.00 per million tokens, which is below the $4.30 plan rate, so on paper the resource plan saves you nothing on 4K work and costs slightly more.
And that is only the footage
A raw model gives you moving pictures. It does not write the hook, keep one presenter consistent across twenty variants, pull the product details off your store, or burn in captions sized for a phone. Somebody still has to do that work, and on a per-second API every discarded variant is billed like the winner.
The finished-ad alternative
UGCGen bills in finished ads rather than seconds. Starter is $49 a month for 100 ads and Plus is $149 a month with real AI video, batch generation and 4K, so a 30 second test costs a fixed slice of a known plan instead of a meter. Paste a product URL and you get a scripted UGC ad with a creator and captions. See UGCGen pricing.
Where you can buy Seedance, and what each route costs
Search "seedance pricing" and most of the first page is sites with Seedance in the domain name that are neither ByteDance nor BytePlus. They resell access with their own credit systems. Buying through one is not wrong, but it adds a markup and a second set of terms. These are the routes with a traceable connection to the model.
| Route | Who runs it | How it bills | 30 second Seedance clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| BytePlus ModelArk API | ByteDance, international cloud | Per token, pay as you go or prepaid resource plans | $6.94 (2.5, 720p) to $17.06 (2.5, 1080p) at list |
| Dreamina | ByteDance, consumer app (CapCut family) | Monthly credit plans, prices localized by country | Not published per clip in USD |
| TopView | Third-party reseller | Annual or monthly credits | About $3.60 (2.5, 720p) on Ultra annual, $16.31 on Pro monthly |
| Higgsfield | Third-party reseller | Monthly or annual credits | About $4.36 (2.0) on Ultra annual |
| HeyGen Video Agent | Third-party app | Credits per minute | Seedance mode uses 120 credits a minute, 3x standard mode |
Resellers can undercut the API
On a big annual plan, TopView's Seedance 2.5 at 720p works out to about $3.60 for 30 seconds, roughly half of BytePlus's $6.94 list price. The catch is commitment: the same clip on TopView's monthly Pro plan is $16.31. Our TopView AI pricing and Higgsfield pricing pages show the full per-plan math.
Dreamina's own number comes with a warning
Dreamina's Seedance 2.5 pricing article quotes $0.097 a second on its Advanced annual plan. The article itself calls those figures "campaign planning figures supplied for this draft" and tells readers to verify checkout terms. Dreamina's plan page also switches currency and credit allowances by country, so we have not used that number.
Commercial use is on you
Dreamina's FAQ says commercial-use eligibility "depends on the applicable Dreamina terms". After Disney and Paramount sent ByteDance cease-and-desist letters over Seedance 2.0 in February 2026, ByteDance said it would strengthen its IP safeguards. For ads, keep to your own product, your own brand assets and invented presenters.
Seedance against Veo 3.1 and Kling, per second at 1080p
For API budgets the real competition is the other per-second video models. These are published 1080p list rates from each vendor's own rate card, with the entry cost, because a cheap second behind a large prepaid minimum is not cheap for a small team.
| Model | Per second, 1080p | 30 seconds | Minimum to start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0 (BytePlus) | $0.37 | $11.22 | Pay as you go, or plans from $30.10 |
| Seedance 2.5 (BytePlus) | $0.569 | $17.06 | Pay as you go; plans stop at 720p |
| Veo 3.1 Fast (Gemini API) | $0.12 | $3.60 | Pay as you go |
| Veo 3.1 Standard (Gemini API) | $0.40 | $12.00 | Pay as you go |
| Kling 3.0, native audio | $0.168 | $5.04 | $700 prepaid, 180 days |
Where Seedance wins
Seedance 2.5 renders a full 30 second shot in one generation, which none of the others in this table do, and it accepts up to 50 references for keeping a product and a character consistent. Seedance 2.0 at 720p ($0.15 a second) is cheap for drafts, and there is no large prepaid door price like Kling's $700 package. We work out where that door price flips the answer in Seedance vs Kling pricing.
Where it loses
At 1080p, Seedance is the most expensive option here per second. Veo 3.1 Fast is a third of Seedance 2.0's price at 1080p and Kling 3.0 with audio is under half. The discounted resource plans skip 1080p on 2.5 entirely. If your deliverable is 1080p ad footage in short cuts, Seedance is not the budget pick.
Veo and Kling rates were read from Google's Gemini API pricing and Kling's developer rate card; full breakdowns are on Veo 3 pricing and Kling AI pricing. OpenAI's Sora API is not in the table because OpenAI removes it on September 24, 2026; see Sora pricing.
Which Seedance option an advertiser should actually buy
You are building a pipeline
Use the BytePlus API on pay-as-you-go for a week, measure how many takes an approved shot really needs, then buy the smallest resource plan that covers one quarter. There is no volume discount on bigger plans, and there is no refund on any of them.
You make a few clips a month
A reseller on an annual plan is usually cheaper per clip than the API at list, but only if you will spend the credits. Monthly reseller plans can cost four times as much for the same Seedance second, so do the per-clip math before you commit.
You just want ads that run
A video model gives you clips; you still need a script, a presenter and captions. Tools that bill per finished ad skip that work. Paste a product URL into UGCGen and compare the result with what a Seedance pipeline would cost you in seconds and hours. For the whole category, see the best AI UGC ad generator comparison.
Seedance pricing questions, answered
How much does Seedance cost?
Seedance costs between $0.04 and $0.78 per second of video on ByteDance's BytePlus API, depending on model and resolution. Seedance 2.0 is $0.07, $0.15, $0.37 and $0.78 a second at 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K. Seedance 2.5 is $0.103, $0.231 and $0.569 a second at 480p, 720p and 1080p. Prepaid resource plans start at $30.10.
How much is Seedance 2.0?
Seedance 2.0 is priced at $7.00 per million tokens for 480p and 720p, $7.70 for 1080p and $4.00 for 4K, when the input has no video. In dollars that is about $0.76 for a 5 second 720p clip and $1.87 for 5 seconds at 1080p. Resource plans for 2.0 cost $30.10, $43.00 and $55.90 and last three months.
How much does Seedance 2.5 cost per second?
Seedance 2.5 costs $0.103 a second at 480p, $0.231 at 720p and $0.569 at 1080p on BytePlus list pricing, for text or image input. That is about 54 percent more than Seedance 2.0 at the same resolution. Its prepaid resource plans cut the rate by 40 percent but cover only 480p and 720p.
How much does the Seedance API cost?
The Seedance API on BytePlus ModelArk bills per million output tokens: $10.70 for Seedance 2.5, $7.00 for 2.0, $5.60 for 2.0 Fast and $3.50 for 2.0 Mini at 480p and 720p. There is no minimum purchase on pay-as-you-go. You are charged only for videos that generate successfully, not for failed or moderated requests.
How much is a 30 second Seedance video?
A 30 second 16:9 Seedance 2.5 video costs $6.94 at 720p and $17.06 at 1080p per take at BytePlus list price. On Seedance 2.0, which caps clips at 15 seconds, 30 seconds costs $4.56 at 720p and $11.22 at 1080p across two clips. Allow for several takes when budgeting a finished ad.
Is Seedance 2.0 free?
Not on the API: BytePlus bills every successful Seedance generation. ByteDance's consumer app Dreamina has a free tier with limited credits, but removing the Dreamina watermark is a paid-plan benefit, and commercial use depends on Dreamina's terms. For ads you will run, plan on a paid route.
Is Seedance cheaper than Veo 3?
Not at 1080p. Seedance 2.0 is $0.37 a second at 1080p and Seedance 2.5 is $0.569, against $0.12 for Veo 3.1 Fast and $0.40 for Veo 3.1 Standard on the Gemini API. Seedance 2.0 at 720p ($0.15) is competitive for drafts, and Seedance 2.5 can render a full 30 seconds in one generation.
Is Seedance cheaper than Kling?
At 1080p, no. Kling 3.0 with native audio is $0.168 a second, less than half of Seedance 2.0's $0.37. The difference is the door price: Kling's API starts with a $700 package that expires in 180 days, while Seedance on BytePlus is pay as you go with plans from $30.10.
Can I get a refund on a Seedance resource plan?
No. BytePlus's FAQ states that once a Seedance resource package is purchased it cannot be canceled or unsubscribed. Plans are valid for three months, after which unused tokens are lost, and when a plan runs out billing switches automatically to pay-as-you-go at list price.
Does Seedance 2.5 support 1080p?
On pay-as-you-go, yes: BytePlus lists Seedance 2.5 at 1080p for $11.70 per million tokens, about $0.569 a second. The discounted Seedance 2.5 resource plans list only 480p and 720p, and the plan page's FAQ gives 720p as the maximum, so 1080p work on 2.5 is billed at full list price.
Where can I buy Seedance?
Directly, through ByteDance's BytePlus ModelArk API or its Dreamina consumer app. Indirectly, through resellers such as TopView and Higgsfield that include Seedance in their credit plans. Many sites with Seedance in the domain name are unaffiliated resellers with their own pricing and terms.
Can I use Seedance videos in ads?
Dreamina says commercial-use eligibility depends on its terms, so read them for your plan before running paid media. After studio cease-and-desist letters in February 2026, ByteDance said it would tighten IP safeguards. Keep ads to your own product, brand assets and invented presenters, never real people or characters.
Buy ads, not tokens
If you came to price Seedance because you need video ads, you can skip the model layer. Paste a product URL and get a finished UGC ad with a script, an AI creator and captions, billed per ad on a plan you can read in one line.
