Kling AI costs $6.99 for the first month of Standard, $25.99 for Pro, $64.99 for Premier and $127.99 for Ultra, then renews at $8.80, $32.56, $80.96 and $159.99 a month for 660, 3,000, 8,000 and 26,000 credits. Annual billing is $79.20, $293.04, $728.64 and $1,429.99 a year, and yes, Ultra now has an annual plan despite what several pricing articles still say. Two things change the math more than the sticker price. The per-100-credit rates printed on the monthly cards are worked out from the first-month deal, so renewal credits cost 25 to 26 percent more than advertised. And monthly credits die after 31 days. The developer API is a separate product that bills per second, from $0.07 to $0.42 depending on model and resolution, but it starts with a $700 prepaid package that expires in 180 days. Kling AI subscription plans: every price in both billing cycles
Kling shows three prices on each monthly card: a struck-through list price, a first-month price about 30 percent below it, and a smaller line underneath saying what you pay from month two. The annual toggle replaces all three with one yearly price. This table puts every one of them side by side, because the number you see first is the number you pay once.

Ultra has an annual plan now
A lot of the Kling pricing articles ranking today say Ultra is monthly only, with no way to lock in a rate. Kling's own page shows Ultra annual at $1,429.99 a year, the cheapest credits Kling sells at $0.46 per 100. If you run volume, that plan is the one to price, and it is missing from most comparisons.
The 34 percent is measured from list
Annual billing is labelled 34 percent off, and it is, against the $10, $37, $92 and $180 list prices. Nobody pays list after month one, though. Against the real monthly renewal price, annual saves about 25 percent: $6.60 against $8.80 on Standard, $119.17 against $159.99 on Ultra. Kling's own "save" figures use the renewal price too.
The first month is a one-time offer
The card says so in small print: first-purchase offer available once. So a $6.99 Standard trial is really a commitment to $8.80 a month from the second bill. Kling states the promotional pricing runs until December 31, 2026, which means the numbers on this page are likely to move at the turn of the year.
The advertised price per 100 credits is the first-month price
Each monthly card prints a price per 100 credits: $1.06 for Standard, $0.87 for Pro, $0.81 for Premier, $0.49 for Ultra. Divide the first-month price by the credit allowance and you get exactly those figures. Divide the renewal price instead and every one of them goes up. This is the rate you actually pay from the second month, next to the annual rate.

Two conclusions fall out of this. First, if you expect to stay past a second month, annual is the only way to get the rate on the card or better. Second, the spread between tiers is huge: a renewing Standard credit costs more than twice an Ultra one. Kling does not print a per-model credit table on the plan page, and says credits are deducted by model, length, resolution and number of outputs, so the app shows the cost of each generation before you run it.
Credit expiry, commercial rights and what the free tier cannot do
These rules come from the FAQ on Kling's own membership page. They matter more to an advertiser than the plan price, because they decide how many of the credits you buy you actually get to use, and whether you are allowed to run the result in a paid ad.

Commercial use is a paid feature
Kling's FAQ grants commercial rights to paid subscribers, with one carve-out: you cannot use the output to build a competing product. You stay responsible for portrait rights, trademarks, advertising rules and AI labeling. For a US brand running paid social, that means the free tier is out before you look at quality.
Buying credits does not buy features
Kling says it plainly: owning credits does not grant subscription benefits. Watermark removal and 4K generation need an active subscription. So the two-year credit packs are not a way around the monthly plan; they top up a plan you already pay for.
Stop paying and the balance goes
When a subscription expires, unused monthly credits are wiped and the subscriber-only model discounts end. Purchased credits still inside their two years survive. If you plan to pause for a quiet month, spend the monthly balance first, because Kling will not hold it for you.
Kling AI API pricing: the per-second rate card
The API is billed separately from the app. Kling sells prepaid units at a list price of $0.14 each and deducts them per second of output. Here are the video rates from Kling's developer pricing documentation, converted to dollars. n/a means the model does not offer that resolution.

The per-second rates look cheap, and they are. The catch is the door price. The smallest video package is $700, it expires after 180 days, and the page says in so many words that there is no rollover or extension. At the Kling 3.0 1080p rate without audio, $700 buys 6,250 seconds, about 780 clips of 8 seconds, which you have six months to use. A team testing a handful of concepts will leave most of that on the table. Custom packages exist for larger buyers through a sales inquiry.
Kling AI cost per clip and per finished 30 second ad
Per-second billing is only useful once it is multiplied out. A 30 second spot is roughly four 8 second shots, and in real creative work each shot gets rendered about three times before one is usable, so you generate around 90 seconds to keep 30. These figures use the API list rates above. Kling generates up to 15 seconds in one pass.

So a 1080p Kling ad with native audio runs about $15 in model time, which is cheap. What that figure leaves out is everything that makes a clip an ad: the hook, the script, a presenter who looks the same across a batch of variations, captions, and the $700 package you had to buy first. Kling against Veo 3.1 and Sora 2 Pro, per second at 1080p
Kling's real competition for API budgets is the other per-second video models. Here are the published 1080p rates side by side, including the entry cost, which is where the vendors differ most.

Where Kling wins
Kling 3.0 with native audio costs less than half of Veo 3.1 Standard per second, and its native 4K at $0.42 a second undercuts Veo 3.1 Standard's $0.60 4K rate. The consumer plans are also cheap to try: $6.99 gets a month of 1080p with commercial rights, well below most ad tools. Motion quality and character consistency are what Kling is known for, and the pricing does not charge a premium for them.
Where it loses
Veo 3.1 Fast undercuts Kling per second at 1080p, and it has no prepaid door price. On the app side, 31-day credit expiry and a first-month price that jumps by a quarter make the true monthly cost higher than the card suggests. None of these models writes the hook, casts a consistent presenter or burns in captions. Testing whether Kling fits
Buy one month of Standard at $6.99 and cancel before the second bill if it is not for you. It is the cheapest way to get 1080p, no watermark and commercial rights. Do not buy the API to test; a $700 package that expires in 180 days is the wrong tool for a trial.
A brand or agency producing weekly
Premier or Ultra on annual billing. Ultra annual at $0.46 per 100 credits is less than half the renewal rate on Standard, and annual is the only way to keep paying the per-credit rate the cards advertise. Plan your calendar around 31-day credit expiry so nothing lapses.
You just want ads that run
