Plans from $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly
Argil AI costs $50 a month for 2,000 credits on its Pro plan, or $41.67 a month when you pay $500 for the year. Pro scales in ten steps to 100,000 credits for $2,250 a month, Studio costs $1,250 a month and Enterprise starts at $2,500. Argil estimates 2,000 credits at about eight 15 second videos, so roughly $6.25 per clip at entry level, while its own avatar model is priced far lower per minute. Nothing is refundable, and plan credits expire every month.
We read these figures on argil.ai/pricing on October 15, 2026, selecting every credit tier with both the monthly and the yearly toggle, and checked them against Argil's documentation, its terms and archived copies of the old pricing page. For how this compares with tools that bill per finished ad, see our AI UGC pricing guide.

All ten Argil credit tiers in monthly and yearly billing
Argil now sells one self-serve plan, Pro, with a dropdown that sets your monthly credits. The card only shows the price for the tier you pick, so most write-ups quote the $50 entry and stop. Here is every step. Yearly billing is exactly ten times the monthly price, which is the "two months free" Argil advertises and the "-17%" on its toggle.
| Credits a month | Monthly billing | Yearly, per month | Yearly, billed once | Per credit, monthly | Argil's estimate, 15s videos | Per 15s video, monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2,000 | $50 | $41.67 | $500 | $0.0250 | 8 | $6.25 |
| 4,000 | $100 | $83.33 | $1,000 | $0.0250 | 16 | $6.25 |
| 8,000 | $200 | $166.67 | $2,000 | $0.0250 | 32 | $6.25 |
| 12,000 | $294 | $245 | $2,940 | $0.0245 | 48 | $6.13 |
| 20,000 | $480 | $400 | $4,800 | $0.0240 | 80 | $6.00 |
| 30,000 | $705 | $587.50 | $7,050 | $0.0235 | 120 | $5.88 |
| 40,000 | $920 | $766.67 | $9,200 | $0.0230 | 160 | $5.75 |
| 50,000 | $1,125 | $937.50 | $11,250 | $0.0225 | 200 | $5.63 |
| 75,000 | $1,688 | $1,406.67 | $16,880 | $0.0225 | 300 | $5.63 |
| 100,000 | $2,250 | $1,875 | $22,500 | $0.0225 | 400 | $5.63 |
The first three tiers are linear
2,000, 4,000 and 8,000 credits all cost exactly 2.5 cents a credit. Moving up those steps buys more volume and nothing else, so pick the smallest one that covers a normal month and top up when a launch needs more.
Fifty times the credits, ten percent off
The rate falls from $0.025 to $0.0225 a credit between the smallest and the largest tier, and stops falling at 50,000. A team spending $2,250 a month pays only a dime less per dollar of video than someone on the $50 tier.
Yearly is the real discount
Paying yearly takes 16.7 percent off every tier, more than the whole volume ladder does. The catch is that nothing is refundable, so a year of Argil is a firm $500 to $22,500 commitment made before you know your monthly usage.
Argil publishes two very different costs per video
The pricing card says 2,000 credits make about eight 15 second videos, which is roughly 250 credits a clip. Argil's documentation prices its own talking-avatar model, Atom, at 160 credits a minute plus 20 a minute for voice. That is about 3 credits a second, against roughly 17 implied by the card. The card's estimate is plainly built on the heavier generative models inside Argil, not on avatar speech, so which number applies depends on what your ad is made of.
| What you make | Credits | At $50 tier | At 100,000 tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30s talking avatar, your own clone (Atom plus voice) | 90 | $2.25 | $2.03 |
| Same, with an Argil v1 avatar (adds 20 royalty) | 110 | $2.75 | $2.48 |
| Same, plus two stock B-roll videos | 130 | $3.25 | $2.93 |
| 15s clip at the pricing card estimate | 250 | $6.25 | $5.63 |
| 30s at the pricing card estimate | 500 | $12.50 | $11.25 |
| 30s avatar ad, three takes of each line | 270 | $6.75 | $6.08 |
Two warnings about the documented rates. The page that carries them still describes the retired Classic, Pro and Scale plans, so treat it as the last published per-feature card rather than a guarantee. And its own worked example does not add up: it prices 30 seconds of Atom at 70 credits, while 160 a minute gives 80. The three-takes row is our working assumption for real ad production, not an Argil figure. To check a specific project before rendering, the API exposes an estimate endpoint that returns the credit cost of a render without starting it.
Argil Classic, Pro and Scale plans and what replaced them
Until mid 2026 Argil sold three fixed plans. An archived copy of the pricing page from June 20, 2026 shows them below, and by early September the page had switched to a credit selector. Search results and many review sites still quote the old $39 Classic plan. It no longer exists.
| Old plan (June 2026) | Monthly / yearly | Credits | Per credit, yearly | Nearest tier today | Per credit, yearly, today |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic, 5 day free trial | $39 / $27 | 1,600 | $0.0169 | 2,000 for $50 / $41.67 | $0.0208, about 23% more |
| Pro | $149 / $104 | 6,000 | $0.0173 | 8,000 for $200 / $166.67 | $0.0208, about 20% more |
| Scale, 3 seats | $499 / $349 | 18,000 | $0.0194 | 20,000 for $480 / $400, 1 seat | $0.0200, about 3% more |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | n/a | Studio $1,250 or Enterprise from $2,500 | Not published |
Yearly buyers pay more
The yearly discount went from 30 percent to about 17 percent. On monthly billing the per-credit rate barely moved, but anyone who renewed a yearly Classic or Pro plan now pays roughly a fifth more per credit, assuming a credit still buys the same amount of video. Argil does not say either way.
Teams lost the cheap seats
Scale gave three workspace seats for $499 a month. Pro now includes one seat at every tier, and the next step with "your team" in it is Studio at $1,250. A three-person team that only needs shared access is the buyer hit hardest by the change.
The docs never caught up
Argil's "Plans" help article still lists Classic at $39 with 1,500 credits, Pro at $149 and Scale at $499. The live page and the help center disagree on the plan names, the prices and even the Classic credit count, so quote the pricing page and nothing else.
Argil Studio and Enterprise pricing for teams
Studio is $1,250 a month, billed monthly, and the page says it includes $1,250 a month in credits. On top you get a set-up built for you around one video format, a private app for that format, a content coaching program, three calibration videos, a dedicated success manager on a shared Slack channel and priority rendering. Extra credits are sold at volume pricing that is not published.
Enterprise starts at $2,500 a month on an annual, invoiced agreement, with $2,500 a month in credits, custom seats, SSO, audit logs, a security review, custom connectors, an SLA and a lower rate on extra credits. Argil's API docs send accounts using more than 60,000 credits a month to enterprise sales.
Argil refunds, credit expiry, API pricing and commercial use
No refunds, under any plan
The terms say every purchase is final, whether or not the credits were used, and a separate clause for users in the United States repeats it. Cancelling stops the next charge and keeps access until the period ends, with no prorated refund. You must also tick an acknowledgment of this policy at checkout.
Plan credits expire monthly
Plan credits refresh each month and do not stack. Pay-as-you-go credits bought in the workspace shop never expire, according to Argil's documentation. Yearly billing still hands out credits month by month, so a quiet month cannot be saved for a launch month.
The API shares your credit balance
There is no API-only price list. Calls spend the same credits as the app: 160 a minute of video, 20 a minute of voice, 20 per video in royalty for Argil's v1 avatars, 10 per AI image B-roll and 20 per stock video B-roll. Linking your own ElevenLabs account removes the voice charge. Creating an avatar from a video is no longer supported through the API.
Commercial use is included
Pro lists commercial use as a feature. The terms leave it to you to avoid infringing anyone's likeness, voice, copyright or trademark, which is worth a second look if you clone a real creator or put a branded product on screen in a paid ad.
Argil vs UGCGen for product video ads
Per second of video, UGCGen costs far more than Argil, and we would rather say so than hide it. Starter is $49 a month for 19 seconds of talking AI creator video. Argil's $50 tier covers about eleven minutes of avatar speech at its documented rate. What you pay for with each is different.
| Argil AI | UGCGen | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | $50 monthly, $41.67 billed yearly | Starter $49 monthly, $24 billed yearly |
| Built around | Your AI clone or a licensed avatar, plus generative scenes | A finished ad written from your product page |
| Who writes the script | You do | Written for you from the product URL, with 5 hook variations |
| Mid tier | 8,000 credits for $200 | Plus $149 or $74 yearly, 50 seconds of Google Veo video, 26 ad generations |
| Seats | 1 on Pro, teams from $1,250 | Up to 10 seats on Pro $499 or $249 yearly |
| API | Shares the plan credits, any tier | Included on Pro |
| Free option | None on the current page | No free plan |
| Refunds | None | Final, example ads before paying |
Pick Argil if you are the face
Founders and creators who want a clone of themselves posting talking videos every day get a lot of minutes for $50, and the cheap avatar rate rewards volume. Budget your own time for scripts and the edit.
Pick UGCGen if you need the ad
You paste a product URL and get the script, an AI creator talking to camera with lip sync, captions, five hooks and every ratio. Our UGC video generator shows the flow, and UGCGen pricing lists every plan.
Still comparing avatar tools
If the shortlist is avatar platforms, line Argil up against HeyGen pricing and Jogg AI pricing, both broken down per finished minute the same way.
Argil AI pricing questions, answered
How much does Argil AI cost?
Argil AI costs $50 a month for its Pro plan with 2,000 credits, or $41.67 a month billed yearly as $500. Pro scales through ten credit tiers up to 100,000 credits for $2,250 a month. Studio, the done-for-you tier, is $1,250 a month, and Enterprise starts at $2,500 a month on an annual agreement.
Does Argil AI have a free trial?
Not on the current pricing page. It shows paid tiers only, with "Start now" and "Go Pro" buttons and no free plan. The 5 day free trial Argil advertised on its old Classic plan in mid 2026 is gone from that page, so budget for at least one paid month before you can judge the output.
How many credits does an Argil video use?
It depends on the model. The pricing page estimates 2,000 credits at about eight 15 second videos, roughly 250 credits each. Argil's documentation prices its own talking-avatar model at 160 credits a minute plus 20 for voice, which makes a 30 second avatar clip about 90 credits. Generative scenes cost far more than avatar speech.
What happened to the Argil Classic plan?
Argil replaced Classic ($39), Pro ($149) and Scale ($499) with one Pro plan sold in ten credit tiers from $50 to $2,250 a month. The yearly discount dropped from 30 percent to about 17 percent. Argil's help docs still describe the old three plans, so the docs and the live pricing page disagree.
Is Argil AI worth it for ads?
It is worth it if you want an AI version of yourself or a licensed avatar talking to camera and you are happy to write scripts and edit. Per second of avatar video it is cheap. It is a weaker fit if you want a finished product ad from a store URL, because the hook, script and cut are still yours to do.
Do Argil credits roll over?
No. Plan credits refresh each month and do not stack, so unused credits are lost at renewal. Extra pay-as-you-go credits you buy inside the workspace are different: Argil says those never expire. That makes a smaller plan plus occasional top-ups safer than an oversized tier you will not use up.
Does Argil offer refunds?
No. Argil's terms say all purchases are final and non-refundable, including unused credits and partially used subscriptions, and the section for US users repeats it. When you cancel, access runs to the end of the paid period with no prorated refund. Test on one monthly cycle before paying for a year.
How much is the Argil API?
The API draws on the same credit balance as the app, so you need a paid plan. Argil's API pricing page lists 160 credits per minute of video, 20 per minute of voice, 20 per video in royalty for its v1 avatars and 10 to 20 per B-roll. Accounts over 60,000 credits a month are sent to enterprise sales.
Does Argil have a team plan?
Not on Pro, which includes one seat. Teams are pointed to Studio at $1,250 a month, which includes $1,250 of credits, a set-up done for you, a private app for one format and a dedicated success manager. The old Scale plan included three seats for $499, so small teams now pay much more to share an account.
Can I use Argil videos for commercial ads?
Yes. Commercial use is listed among the Pro plan features on the pricing page. Your own responsibility does not go away: the terms put the burden on you to avoid infringing anyone's image, voice, copyright or trademark, which matters if you clone a creator or show a branded product.
Is Argil cheaper than HeyGen?
At entry level HeyGen costs less, with its Creator plan at $29 a month or $24 billed yearly against Argil's $50 or $41.67. Per minute of avatar video the answer depends on which avatar model you use on each side, so compare cost per finished minute. Our HeyGen pricing page breaks down its credits the same way.
Is UGCGen cheaper than Argil?
No. Per second of video, UGCGen is far more expensive. Starter is $49 a month for 19 seconds of talking AI creator video, while Argil's $50 tier covers several minutes of avatar speech. UGCGen sells something different: a finished ad written from your product page, with hooks, captions and every aspect ratio, and you can see example ads for your product before you pay.
